Are you a nudist because you nurse your toddler?

To prevent nudity in their city, Forest Park officials have decided to make it illegal in their metro-Atlanta area, to breastfeed a child over age 2 in public.

http://www.wsbtv.com/news/27920007/detail.html?sms_ss=facebook&at_xt=4dd29f22dcc6e137%2C0

How in the heck do they believe that not allowing nursing of toddlers and/or preschoolers will prevent nudity? Most extended breastfeeders I know are either discrete, choose not to nurse in public, or are too busy to notice what part of the city they're in when travelling to indicate that "hey, when I travel, do I have to restrict when or where I nurse?"

The fact is, breastfeeding is part of our parenting styles, and even if YOU, reader, are not someone who breastfeeds, this restriction affects you. It is one more restriction a level of government is placing on a FREE person in the USA. What is happening to a person's freedom when we allow this unnecesary restriction to go through without a fight?

So here's a wiki link to the city. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_Park,_Georgia

This LINK is made available and we ask that you share it as much as possible. Once we rearch 250 signatures we will contact the City of Forest Park with the petition.

Here's a link to the actual law. You can see that indecent exposure is EXCLUDED for nursing a baby under aged 2.
